Panopticon is the feature debut of director George Sikharulidze, a co-production between Georgia, France, Italy, and Romania that has garnered international awards and was selected as Georgia’s official entry for the 98th Academy Awards in the Best International Feature Film category. While not a traditional historical drama, the film explores the lasting psychological and spiritual shadow of recent history on post-Soviet society. It follows Sandro, an introverted teenage boy whose father decides to join an Orthodox monastery, leaving him to navigate the conflicting pressures of religious duty, personal desire, and ideas of masculinity in a society caught between its past and an uncertain future. The film won the Grand Prix at the KineNova International Film Festival in 2025.

Directed by acclaimed Georgian-French filmmaker Géla Babluani, Young Stalin is one of the most anticipated international productions to emerge from Georgia. This upcoming biographical thriller adapts the 2007 novel of the same name by Simon Sebag Montefiore, chronicling the early life of Joseph Stalin as a charismatic, bank-robbing gangster leading a daring heist in pre-revolutionary Russia. The film stars Cosmo Jarvis, the lead actor from the hit series Shōgun , in the title role. Produced by Georgia's Independent Film Project (IFP) in co-production with international partners, Young Stalin began production in late 2025. As an English-language period thriller, it aims to bring a pivotal and formative chapter of Georgian history—and world history—to a global audience.
