The story follows (Melissa Joan Hart), a popular but principled senior whose perfect life unravels when her boyfriend, Nick, dumps her for the head of the prom committee. Meanwhile, her childhood neighbor Chase Hammond (Adrian Grenier), a rebellious skateboarder and activist, is ghosted by his girlfriend, Dulcie.

The soundtrack is a time capsule of late '90s pop and rock, and it's impossible to talk about the film without it. To promote the film, Melissa Joan Hart and Adrian Grenier even appeared in the music video for the song, further cementing the link between the movie and the pop star.
