Melissa's world is turned upside down when she meets (Primo Reggiani), a handsome, wealthy, and seemingly charismatic boy from her school. In a moment of youthful longing and naivety, she gives herself to him, believing that physical intimacy will inevitably blossom into the fairy-tale romance she has always dreamed of. The experience, however, is anything but romantic. Daniele treats her with cold indifference, using her for his own gratification and discarding her emotionally.

The movie revolves around the story of Melissa, a young woman played by Gaia De Laurentiis, who engages in a romantic relationship with a much older man, Massimo, portrayed by Alessio Boni. As their relationship deepens, Melissa becomes increasingly obsessed with Massimo, leading to a complex exploration of love, desire, and identity.

The film is an adaptation of the sensational, semi-autobiographical novel 100 colpi di spazzola prima di andare a dormire ( One Hundred Strokes of the Brush Before Bed ) by the then-anonymous author Melissa Panarello. When the book was published in 2003, it caused an immediate scandal across Italy and Europe for its raw, unapologetic detailing of a teenage girl's sexual awakening.
